BHPK’s Fraud & Embezzlement Defense Practice Serving Suffolk County, Massachusetts
Allegations of involvement in criminal activity can have a negative impact on all aspects of a person’s life, including his or her career and family. At the Boston, Massachusetts law firm of Brody, Hardoon, Perkins & Kesten, LLP, we are keenly aware of this impact. We work diligently to protect our clients when criminal allegations arise, working as early as possible in a case to have charges dismissed and, when possible, investigations dropped before formal charges are even filed.
We defend individuals accused of a broad spectrum of white collar crimes, such as:
Computer/Cyber Crimes: These cases involve those who have been charged with or are under investigation for computer crimes, including Internet fraud, computer fraud, credit card fraud, identity theft, using the Internet illegally, and cyber stalking.
Financial Fraud/Embezzlement: We have successfully defended individuals and companies against charges such as business crimes, conspiracy, identity theft, credit card theft, procurement fraud, larceny, embezzlement, mortgage fraud, and insurance fraud.
Telemarketing Fraud: At BHPK, we have represented numerous individuals and businesses that have been charged with or who are under investigation for telemarketing fraud. We have also defended people and businesses charged with soliciting money over the telephone and other electronic means.
Public Corruption: These crimes involve those who have been charged with violations of state and federal laws. We have also successfully represented government employees and state officials who have been charged with violations of the public trust.
An Experienced Criminal Defense Attorney and Former Prosecutor
The white collar criminal defense practice at Brody, Hardoon, Perkins & Kesten, LLP draws on partner Jeremy Silverfine’s wealth of experience as the former Chief of the Special Prosecutions Unit at the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office and the Public Integrity Unit at the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office. Mr. Silverfine has tried more than one hundred and fifty jury cases in district, superior and federal courts throughout Massachusetts. He has also argued matters before the Massachusetts Appeals Court, the Supreme Judicial Court, and administrative boards in Massachusetts.
Together with other BHPK attorneys, many of whom are former prosecutors themselves, Mr. Silverfine has provided representation for white collar criminal defendants before grand juries and at all stages of the criminal process through trial, in both state and federal courts.
With our vast civil litigation experience, our attorneys are also able to handle civil lawsuits that arise simultaneously from criminal prosecutions. We have a record of success in civil rights lawsuits as well as in adjudicatory hearings before the Massachusetts State Ethics Commission.
